Making Time For Yourself As A Mom During Quarantine

Becoming a parent is the most amazing yet difficult thing in the world. 

It’s such a blessing to have your own baby but sometimes things can seem overwhelming and we can loose our identity- outside of being a mama. 

So how do we make time for ourselves? 

Making time for yourself

It’s a balancing act and it can be hard to find a minute to ourselves, right mamas? But please, I can’t stress this enough -talk, talk and talk to others. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. 

As difficult as it can be, making time for ourselves outside of our mama duties is so imperative for our own mental health and well being. 

Even if it’s just for an hour. 

Take time to think about what is it you enjoy. 

Make a list of things you like to do that doesn’t involve the kids. 

Mine has to be slapping a face mask on, running a hot bubbly bath, candles and music (maybe even accompanied by a cheeky glass on vino!) bliss!! Even something as simple as this can do wonders for our mood. 

Washing your hair, putting make up and a dress on- give yourself a little TLC

Another quick thing you can do, is a 15 minute yoga or dance workout (there’s some great ones on YouTube) – all from the comfort of your own home too. 

If that feels a bit too strenuous, catch up on a soap or get stuck into a good book once the little ones are in bed. 

All the suggestions I’m mentioning are of course quarantine friendly. 

The times we find ourselves living in are tough. Being a mama is tough. 

Be kind to yourself. 

You deserve it mama 💫
